ANNUAL NATIONAL SEMINAR OF INDIAN SOCIETY OF TOXICOLOGY FEBRUARY 22, 2009
Dear friends & colleagues,
The Indian Society of Toxicology has been at the vanguard of toxicological
research and academics in India since its inception in 2004. It has been
regularly hosting national conferences (TOXOCON) on a variety of toxicological
themes regularly every year, aside from bringing out a peer reviewed biannual
journal (print and on-line versions). Past conference themes have included
snakebite, organophosphate pesticides, curriculum development in toxicology for
UG medical students, etc. The theme for TOXOCON-5 to be held at Chandigarh in
Nov 2009 is "Substance Abuse- Special Focus on Alcohol" It has now been decided
to hold a national seminar (TOXEMINAR) every year on varied themes, in addition
to the annual conferences. The inaugural seminar (TOXEMINAR-1) will be held in
the historical city of Aligarh in Feb 2009. The theme - "Human Toxicology and
Environmental Health: New Frontiers and Future Challenges."Please open the
attached files to this message for the scanned brochure. Printed brochures will
be mailed to all IST members, and can also be mailed (if required) to anybody
else who requires it.
Do consider attending TOXEMINAR-1 for what will most certainly be an enriching
and rewarding experience!
See you in Aligarh in 2009!
Best wishes,
V. V. Pillay
